    North Korean Bataillon flag?

Another from the drpk grouping. I've seen a capture photo of a similar flag identified as a Bataillon Flag.

Any Info on it...and a translation would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

        Hello paulj:
Vey nice to see a Korean War captured DPRK unit flag.
I too look forward to a translation of the flag lettering.
Only other one I've seen was found at the Moss Landing
Calif. Flea Market years ago which ended up on eBay.

So far I've gotten the transliteration as Dae-duk-gun-hoi-duk-myeon-dan-bu (대덕군회덕면단부).

I've been told this flag is from the Workers' Party of South Korea (Daeduk area). The WPSK was the communist party in the south 1946-49. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Worker...of_South_Korea

From what I can discern, Daeduk-gun Hoiduk myeon refers to the district and town. Daeduk is part of the city of Daejeon.

At the time of the Korean War, Daejeon was called Taejon. There was a major battle there in July 1950 in which US forces retreated out of the area after a holding action again a superior force of the North Korean Army. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Taejon

The city was recaptured in September 1950. I presume this flag was taken then or subsequently.

Interestingly, based on the legible part of inscription 대덕군 on the flag in the capture photo, it seems to be from the same Daeduk area.
