Helmets with white lines

Good day gents , I recently watched a documentary and noticed that all the Japanese infantry in it had a white painted line round there helmets and tropical helmets .It wasn't just one or two it was them all.

I always believed that this was a leaders identification , but there were far to many for that to be the case .I thought it maybe could be war games but it definetly looked like combat footage

+1 and most likely. In wartime it would ruin camo and make everyone stand out IMO.

Thank you guys it must be that , the footage has obviously been put in with combat footage for the documentary
