In Korean it is called Geojedo (Koje-do) and was a POW camp for North Koreans in the 1950s. Perhaps the “PW” on the airplane indicates Prisoner of War, and his number is 48013??? The front illustration looks like there’s a plane shot down.

Hard to say without further research. I was the sub-installation commander on Chejudo in 1989-1990. The Japanese had used the island as a Kamikaze launch point — lots of left-over aircraft bunkers used by Korean farmers. So I guess there could have been a similar use on Geojedo, seeing that is the second largest outer island of Korea (Chejudo is the largest). Chejudo was also used as a POW camp for N. Koreans and local communist sympathizers— pretty bloody internecine actions happened on “my” island.
