Can anyone help me find out more about this book?

I found an interesting book on a militaria website described as an 1896 Sino-Japanese war book. I just wanted to know who it’s by and any other information of significance.

in the second picture they explain the different drawnings in the book.
i see happenings in korea and some other highlights of different battles.

There are 2 dates in the upper right, May 2, 1876 and May 5, 1876. I don’t know the significance.

Add 20 to your figuring. 廿 is an old version of 二十 ..... you can see the two tens 十_十 welded together at the bottom. Those dates would be the publication and print dates .... but I have not looked closely enough to confirm. But that's what the dated usually are.
