    This looks similar to POW art that I've seen posted on WAF.

    The maker of this uses the old kanji for Geisha: 藝者 [artiste]; the post 1947 kanji for art is . [Contrary to popular belief, geisha were not prostitutes, but artisans who danced, sang, played instruments, and .... sometimes had their favors purchased]. A geisha who fell to selling her favors was called 転び芸者
    Korobi-Geisha [Fallen Geisha].
