Picked up a few items - help with translation appreciated

The oil can is in real nice shape and nicely marked - looks like it might hold about a quart.

I'm thinking that "karasu" カラス in this case is an emphasis since it is in katakana vice kanji or hiragana; if it does mean dry as I suspect, the kanji should be

涸らす 【からす karasu】 karasu to dry up; to exhaust
