Japanese helmet

This is a nice helmet but has a painted white star beneath the regular star? Is that normal or does it hurt the value?

Me neither. The helmet star that is currently in place looks basically unpainted and rusted up (certainly not a match to the original shell paint) and a replacement. Can't tell if its a repro or not from the picture given.

Replacement star looks to be a reproduction to me. Save your money.

Hi Cecil, it will hurt the value and make it unattractive to serious helmet collectors. Certainly an added star and likely a reproduction in my opinion. Regards, Bill
