Your German-Japanese dictionary belonged to a civilian student in a university prep-school (Higher School).

The university preschool under High School Ordinance (1894) was divided into the first part (law, literature), the second part (engineering, science, and agriculture), the third part (medical). The first part is subdivided according to the first foreign language, and among the law applicants, the English-speaking courses are partly English law, the German-based department is partly German law, among the applicants of the science university, English Department that mainly consists of English, German main courses become part of German.

In addition, the high school of the three-year system only for existing university preschool changed the name of university preschool to higher courses. Higher education departments are broadly divided into science and science, and are divided into science classes (English), class B (B), science classes (French), science classes (English), science It was subdivided into the class B (German) and the science class C class (French). Science class B class was a course to go on to medical school, faculty of medicine, faculty of agriculture course.
      Japanese Wiki
Interesting in that the Japanese wiki states "Science (English) was at the class A level and Science (German) was at the Class B level", this particular Class A student was studying German.

The publication data will be in the back, near where Odagiri wrote his name (this would look like the front of the book to us Westerners).

Thank you very much for your help Guy. These informations are very interesting.
Here are the pages that precede the name written in kanjis on the back cover.
Strangely this book is not reversed, he is constituted like a western book.
