It's not easy to offer opinions on a mumei sword with no strong defining features.

Agreed; if a crack, a vertical crack like that is a fatal flaw -- the blade could snap.


I cannot see if the temper line circles around at the boshi -- it looks as if someone gave that area a really rough polishing up and it camouflages the temper line in the boshi. If the temper ends in a straight line, it indicates the tip was broken, then repaired. You experts call me out if I'm mis-remembering this bit.

No, it's some lint. The blade is in good order, just very difficult to photograph.

Boshi runs off which is a fatal flaw sorry there’s no value in this blade

Agree. This blade is acid. I won't touch it.
