    Japanese army cap with box

    Hello everyone,

I recently had this Japanese cap in its box of the manufacturer. The star seems to me a little high, they are normally more centered, what do you think?

Someone could translate the inscriptions on the box?

    Thank you, best regards.

Star is maybe not too high. Any labels on the inside? Often black silky liner on these but have seen course weave too.

For Extra credit - name this famous Col from the first major battle of Guadalcanal

      Right:
      名品
      Meihin
      Fine product/masterpiece

      羊*
Sheep/Wool [I *think* that first kanji is ; I can't read that second kanji]

      Center:
      軍帽
      Gunbō
      Military hat

      Left: [no clues here ??]
      *數
      一,三五

1.35 [I think that might be a stylized 5, but am uncertain.

I'll take the extra credit....that's Colonel Kiyonao Ichiki of the famous photograph of the doomed Ichiki detachment shown slain and partially buried in the sand...
