Engine Plate from a Japanese Vehicle?

    Hello

Can anyone help with this plate?

It must have meant something to the RAF pilot brought it back from the Far East at the end of the war along with a Japanese flying helmet and some other bits and bobs.

    Many thanks

    James

      Some sort of oil tank.

      .......油「たんく」

      ......abura/yu “tanku”
      .......oil “tank”.

Wow! thanks to Geof and GHP. I must say that I was expecting something more exciting than an oil tank because the veteran brought back a load of pilot's gear. I wonder why he brought this back?

Quick and dirty translation looks to say: Lower wing control use oil tank. Company is an aircraft related factory.
