    Army Officers tunic question

    Hello everyone,
What is the significance of the green stripe found on many Army officers tunic sleeves? Is it decorative? or does it mean something? What styles would this stripe be found on? Any help would be appreciated, as I am learning about Army officer tunics. Thank you,

    Hello Paul,

No it is not decorative. It means a rank, when you have just the green stripe its is a Jun-i what means a associate officer/ warrant officer.
When stars or other green stripes (max 3) it goes up in rank.

    greetings

Thank you for your information. How many stripes would a company grade officer like a Captain have?

A captain would be one "stripe" and three stars. A major is two stripes and one star.
