Sorry, no. That is a cheap Chinese-made sword that somewhat looks like a Japanese military sword.

A lot of WWIi G.I.s got taken by the fakes being made during and after the war. It's likely this poor lady's husband was in the war and brought this home from occupation duty somewhere, but he got conned. Sorry.
