    Help with translation

I have this Naval sword where there is writing on the inside of the scabbard mouth. Can someone translate it please.

Sorry, the writing has bled and is too faint for me to make out.

I was afraid of that but was hoping someone could tell me in general if it is a name or place or what.

      Thank you for looking.

Generally, the writing inside a scabbard has more to do with fitting parts to the blade. I think my sword had my name ガイ パワー pencilled in at that location. I don't clearly remember and I cannot check -- the sword was stolen by a "friend."

I just flipped the image sideways ... it *does* look more like a name.

I am having problems posting photos, but I am not sure they will help. Chen, can you tell me what the three charters you are guessing mean.

              Thank everyone for their interest.

Dunno if Mr. Chen's guess is good or not ... it does not "sound" Japanese:

                  Tiger
katsura tree, aka Cercidiphyllum japonicum and Japanese Judas Tree.
