    Translation please, painted signature / arsenal name? Japanese sword.

    Arsenal blade. I believe this to be a Navy sword. Has painted notation as pictured. Translation or information appreciated.

    It’s an assembly or inventory number, in this case 450. Very common on guntos, essentially meaningless.

      Andy,

      The anchor stamp is of the Toyokawa Naval Arsenal. Like Steve said, the painted numbers are believed to be there to keep the blade with its custom fitted parts during the polish and reassembly.
