    Two Japanese bags to identify

    Hello,

I recently acquired a Japanese lot with various uniforms and equipment, and among all that, there were these two bags that I can not identify. Can someone tell me more?

    Thank you.

The bottom one looks like a US Army gasmask bag. We used to find these at the burn pit at Ft. Bragg whrn I was a teenager.

    The snap is a give-away.

The top bag is a wartime Japanese students backpack, the second one is the bag for a Japanese Type 95 gas mask adopted in 1935, the small straps were added on at some point.

        Hi Dan!

        No kidding?????

Wow— how close to the US gasmask bag are they?

Or, is my memory THAT bad?

          Hello,

Thanks a lot for your answers.

Indeed, after looking it is a bag for gas mask m35. Do you know why these straps were added? Terrain modification? second use?

So the first bag is an army bag for military school students?

          Best regards.
