      I'm guessing you mean "Navy"? Japan didn't have a marine orgnization during WWII.

          Ha, I can see how that would come across to the english word - marine! Now that you mention it, even in English, marine is a word that relates to the ocean.

          Yes, the Type 97's are my favorite. Quite beautiful in fittings, and the stainless blades are always gorgeous. For the ancient blade hunter, even the 97's have them. I stumbled into a Koto era blade with sharkskin saya when I was looking for my 1st Navy gunto. It's in not-so-good condition, but I bought it anyway.
