Dog tag and Mess tin Translation Please

Any help would be most appreciated. The dog tag is sewn onto a leather piece...perhaps for a necklace?

Is there a slot in the back of the leather tab? Perhaps stitching holes? Can’t really see it well on this phone screen. I’ve seen them affixed to sword belts.

    Regards,
    Stu

Not that I can see, but it looks to be embossed on the backside

I think maybe the "dog tag" is a luggage tag for 梶本正 Kajimoto Masa (last Kanji?), 7th Company.

The name as translated may need some tuning up but the tag doesn't point to any specific unit so just my best guess.

Have you checked the back of the tag for more markings?

Thanks. Good question. I can't as both ends are tied down by sinew
