    Japanese Occupation flag question

I purchased this off eBay today as I really like these occupation era flags with GI names and unit markings.

Based on what little I know the Japanese writing appears to just be a translation of the information the GI had added to it, but I was curious if this is the case. Thank you for the help!

Correct, translations of the English. I am surprised they used a few of the characters in the translation. Seems quite literal. Interesting flag.

Thank you very much. I agree that it's an interesting flag, and I was surprised to see in my research that the vet passed away in 1969 at only 42.
