    Japanese Mess Kit

    This is an item that my grandmothers brother sent back before he was killed. He was a LT. and not sure where he died. Do not know anything about japanese militaria but hope its interesting for those that do.

                        The belt buckle (?) looks like its from the Philippines. (Note the Philippine flag.)

                            Those items in pic 6 are seals, used as a legal signature on important documents. They are still commonly used in Asia-my Mother-in Law uses hers on legal papers she gets from Korea. I think the ink used for these seals is always red.

                              Bear in picture #5 you show a few pieces of folded, lined writing paper. What Lauren & I want to know is what, if anything, was written on this paper or was the paper just used as packing for some of the items. Thanks
