Just got back from vets widows house. Vets deceased husband was Army occupation in 1945 Japan. Brought back a scrubbed 99 rifle a nice sword with BOBO with vice grip clamp marks on blade. She then brings out what had been described by him as a shrine “death bell”. Nicely made with crest badge on tassel. Any ideas guys?

Goko-rei -- five-pronged bell; aka Vajra Bell, used in Tendai and Shingon Buddhism (in Japan).
I found only one site on Google-image of your specific bell (below) but the site is dead.
Most goko-rei look like the Tibetan style bell.
