    Japanese scales

    4th and final item....I know not for navigation, but came with the rest of the group. Not sure if the eyeglass is a part of this or not but was in the box.

    The magnifying glass does not go with the scale - it goes with the compass. It fits on the north side and is used to make the fine '"dial it in" adjustments for either true north or magnetic north. it has a level and magnified to be as precise calibration as possible. It looks "civilian" to me - as does your globe and compass

    I have pictures of one in a case with all the various sized pieces added to tune it in. Think of it like a precision balance of a racing wheel where they add weights in precise location to dial it in.
