    Hi Ced.

    It's a good one, semi machine made, seki stamped, dated showa 17 for 1942. Check if all parts have the same serial number. I think I see a "80" on the far left seppa in the last picture.

      Genuine Type 98 Army Officer gunto, the Seki stamp is found on blades made in the Seki area and mean the blade was not made in the "traditional" way.

      Looks like it came with a leather handle cover, but no leather cover over the scabbard?

        I cannot clearly read the smith’s first kanji and am only guessing it is .

            A google search will give you an average of current prices, but they range from $800 to $1,200 USD depending .......
