Nice and scarce tank helmet
I have one with a little diferences , inside have two diferents leathers , brown and black, and the general color are more dark.
The star on the front is only a stitch perfil , no leather
Unfortunately inside stamps are unclear , a lot of ink !!!

I have seen some construction/material differences in tank helmets although I have not seen the type of insignia that is on your helmet. When you get the chance, please take some photos of your helmet and I will give you a hand posting them on the forum. I know what you mean about the ink stampings as a lot of the helmets I see the stamping(s) are smudged.
