        As Chen says. Please make sure the pics are right side up. Much of the info you want is on the first page with writing. That is, our back cover is the front cover followed by black and red printed pages, then the writing STARTS.

        I see Jan. 10, 1942 written inside the cover and 1943 and 1944 within the text.

        Nick wrote the definitive article on these service booklets, it's a sticky on this forum and well worth a read!

              This soldier is from this county of Japan.

                He started from Tokyo and passed this famous gate( 3) in China at Aug 29 and finally arrived at Shanghai on Sept.2.

                      Your guy was with the 1st Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Division. What is cool about this booklet, is he had a specialty of artillery fire observer. Unusual to see this designation.

                            I think 1. is his original unit he joined and later ended up at 2.
                            I let other to confirm and translate.
