Hi,
Does anyone know what emblems general Kintaro might have had on his war fan.
I need to make a minature one for a model.

Ive found out he was a mythical character that was given as a doll on boys day in
the hope that they would inherit some of his noble attributes.A generic war fan will
suffice.

Kintaro 金太郎 [Golden Boy] is a fairy tale. He is usually depicted with a typical baby bib (a triangular piece that covers the upper chest and groin) upon which is emblazoned the kanji 金 (Gold). He meets up with a bear, rabbit, and monkey to conquer an ogre.

For your model, perhaps a gold fan with a red (金) .. or black fan with gold kanji?



Of course he was nationalized during WWII. Here he is banzai-ing a victory:
