    What would you value it in your mind if you were at the auction? I like the story it tells, but I don't want to overpay for something that would be looked down by some collectors due to the blade condition. As long as I know I'm in at a decent market value I'll be happy.

      Tough to speculate but I'd be happy at around $500. Not a sword you'd buy for the blade obviously. The Japanese would have swords destroyed in building fires repolished just to preserve the form although the artistic value is gone, for me it's kind of like that.
