    Japanese ZERO info placard ?

    Hi,

A friend has this interesting Japanese information placard that is apparently from a zero.

He says the fellow he got it from was a WWII veteran who had part of a Zero fuselage in his front yard, when he got rid of it apparently he kept this. The story is second hand, so we really don't know what it is!

Can anyone help us out with Japanese Zero(?) info placard ?

    Thanks in advance,
    -Steve

    Nice story.

I'm not certain on nomenclature ...

    夜間着陸指導装置
    Night Landing Instruction Device

shido 指導 can also mean "guide"... so perhaps
    Night Landing Guidance Device ???

Zero is strictly a navy plane. I see an army star on data plate. Navy data plate would have an anchor stamp.

        Thanks for the replies!

I guess it is in fact a piece of a Japanese airplane, but perhaps not a ZERO like was stated in the story. Perhaps the vets referred to them all as zero's sort of like how all German tanks were "Tigers".

Anyone have any idea on value? I can't imagine it's worth very much?

        Cheers,
        -Steve
