Japanese pistol lanyard

I have had this lanyard for a long time but I am not sure it is authentic. It is 34 inches long which seems short to me. Something about it does not look correct. I would appreciate any comments. Thanks.

best starting point for me is always a black light UV test to see if it glows. After that i take my known good ones and really study and compare them to the "offered" one.
In this case with the one you have i find that my originals don't have the "fuzz" like yours and other known repros often have. In my opinion it is a repro.
BTW - the thread Tom referenced is the best one I've found on this subject
