    Two peaked caps

I was taken back by size and the weight of them, very small & light in my reckoning.

There are some exterior differences in regards to pipeing and the buttons. There are others like the material, size of cap badge etc but I put those down to makers differences and year they were made in perhaps.

This button is unlike the other caps button, is this perhaps a civil button ? The pipeing around the rim of the hat and at the top and the bottom of the red velvet type band is another trait devoid on the other cap ????

                Marcus,

Thanks for sharing the photos of your two new Japanese Army officer's private purchase visor hats with us.

The odd chin strap retaining button on one of the hats is from a fireman's hat and was more than likely added to your cap at some point in time.
