Japanese Helmet and Cover for Review

Folks,

Please see attached photos of a helmet and IJN cover that I was recently offered. The story goes that both were brought home by the seller's grandfather after WWII.

The helmet appears to be a civil defense helmet, or at least is trying to be a civil defense helmet.

I apologize for the photos, but they are what the seller provided.

I'm no expert, but it looks like a CD helmet with a naval cover.
