    Naval helmet with "snowflake" badge

    Here's something I snagged off ebay listed as a US helmet. Not in the greatest of condition, lacking the liner and with a fair amount of rust, but it is my first naval helmet to retain the badge. In addition, it is the uncommon "snowflake" type, which some here call it. Thanks for looking

    Fairly sure that's the badge of a petty officer.

      If it were a Naval cap and a soft patch, you would be correct. All Navy ranks had a standard helmet insignia which included the Sakura (Cherry Blosssom), like all Army ranks had a standard steel star. Nice helmet by the way.

        Nice snag....original IJN helmet with correct and original emblem. Not in the best condition but good example.
