Information: Bomber crew helmet, Japanese pilot.

    Hello everyone.

    I have a question.

Do you have any documentation on these helmets?

Can they be found on bomber crews and pilots?

Did the pilots wear different types of helmets like this one?

    Thank you all.

I have not found any information and documents explaining the differences in use of these two helmets.

In the end there is only the straps for the location of the glasses that is different.
Both models could be used as well by bomber crews and pilots:

          Hi locomilo,

It's a nice Japanese army winter flight helmet dated 1941 (Sho 16). The other one is a summer model.

Dark brown flight helmet is an ARMY winter Bomber. Crown in padded to help protect crew members if they bump their heads on the air frame while walking around or performing tasks.

Other flight cap with google straps more behind ears is a classic Army summer fighter pilot's helmet

The one missing the star is another Army winter Bombers flight cap with extra padded crown

Sometimes the winter bomber caps were electrically heated and that cord is often cut off too. You have to look at the back side neck area to see if there ever was one

No hard and fast rules as to what a pilot could or could not wear while flying but I have NEVER seen army pilots with IJNavy flight caps or the other way around.

The Japanese bomber crews could use a pilot helmet model?

Nick Komiya sent me this documentation:

                http://www.warrelics.eu/forum/japane...45-a-662354-4/

This is the pre-WW2 model. Eyeglass straps have evolved over time.

This helmet was by pilots and bomber crews. There were no uniform differences in the crews of pilots and bomber crews.

Yes, IJA No hard and fast rules as to what pilot helmet they could or could not wear while flying.

IJN navy pilots wear the same type cap for fighter and bomber pilots and obviously could decide if they wanted a summer or "winter" cap as they wished.

Same (summer or fur lined) individual choice for their boots as well.

Yes of course. I was talking about the 1941 models with the glasses straps on the ear.

A model also used by pilots and bomber crews.

Many vendors are mistaken in the presentation of this model.
