    Hinomaru Signed Flag...

These don't pop up in my area to often, and the seller is listing it for more than I think it's worth.
Anyone see anything out of the ordinary on it?
I can see (I think) '7 lives for the nation' and 'Dying for ones country'
Apologies if I've posted upside down or wrong way. I still have trouble sometimes.

    Thank you,

That appears to be a nice, "been there" flag. Thanks for posting...

I agree, a nice used flag. These seem to command a little higher price when they have that "been there" look to them.

                    Flag presented to:

                    大塚秀雄
                    Ōtsuka Hideo-kun
                    Mr. Ōtsuka Hideo [O-tsuka Hee-day-oh]

Ōtsuka is the family name and means "large mound."

Here's a note from his little sister:

                        ヒデヲ兄サンガンバレ
                        陽子

                        Hideo Ni-san Ganbare
                        Yōko

Big Brother Hideo: Do Your Best! [signed by his sister Yōko].

Ganbare [ganbatte!] means: hold on; go for it; keep at it; do your best ... I originally wrote "hang tough" ... but maybe that was over-doing it a bit.
This sentiment is written mostly in katakana, indicating a child; however, the kana are well-formed and seem very adult -- possibly a parent wrote it for her. Her name 陽子 can be pronounced at least 8 different ways, depending on the sound her parents wanted; I chose Yōko because that's what I found more common while doing a google search. The two most common were Yōko and Yōshi

                        Yōko
                        Yōshi

                        Akiko
                        Akirako
                        Kiyoko
                        Takako
                        Nagako
                        Haruko
