Japanese Knee Mortar Round

I picked this up today and thought I would share it. I haven't tried to date it yet and don't know if it can be as I don't see paint marks. I don't know to much about them yet so I thought I would post some pictures. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you and the 3039 that is in the copper ring and lightly stamped into the body must be a serial number to show a match?

Sorry ... I can read some Japanese, but I'm not knowledgeable about militaria. One of the ordnance experts ought to be along sometime today and give you a better assessment/answer.

No problem the number remind me of a serial number like the ones on firearms.
