I wanted to share with you my small japanese collection. I did have complete uniform but I sold all
Just remind a type 90 helmet, canteen, bayonet, dishes and flag

yes it gives a beautiful aspect to the helmet. The string of the net is thread in the back ring of the chinstrap

I sold the helmet , that we can see on the first post.
It was taken on dead japanese soldier I think. Very nice condition, with nice paint, but chinstrap cuted off, and front pad of liner was cutted off too.
I only keept the second one. Always have choice to do with collection...

The flag has lots of patriotic slogans; it was presented to Sasaki Rokumatsu:

贈佐々木六松君
Zō Sasaki Rokumatsu-kun
Presented [to] Mr. Sasaki Rokumatsu
々 is a kanji/sound repetition marker. Sa々 = Sasa; Shin々 = Shinshin; etc.


The thick kanji motto to the left of the presentation ... I can't read -- too stylistic. All I can make out is the last kanji for God/Spirit:
宝＊＊神
Takara/Ho ?? Kami/Shin
Treasure * * God/Spirit/Soul
This is a typical 4-kanji maxim that the Chinese and Japanese are so fond of; I'm guessing at the first kanji thinking it could be a calligrapic variation. Sure wish I knew what it said!

Protect Greater Japan's Iron Heart!

This next one at the 5:00 o'clock position is interesting .... first time I've seen it:
祈永久武運
Ki Eikyū Bu'un
Prayers for Perpetual Fortunes of War
[永 actually means Eternal]

It is the same sentiment as the omnipresent:
祈武運長久
Ki Bu'un Chokyu
Prayers for Continued Luck in the Fortunes of War

It's nice for me to see this variation.
