    Japanese Flags - Authenticity?

I recently acquired 3 flags along with a very large US Navy uniform and personal items grouping. I believe the flags were also brought back by him, as they were owned by the same gentleman.

Can anyone tell me if they might be authentic? Seabee fake? Post-war?

The dye has imperfections, but they definitely look aged... whether genuinely aged or faked, I wouldn't really know.

Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Perhaps it's just me but all I see are numerous little black squares with a white X in them.

    Anyone else see the images?

    Regards,
    Stu

The flags appear to be period -- and unsigned -- rising sun and meatball flag.

        Thanks for the assessment!

Any ideas on value range for the 3 of them?

I had trouble posting them initially. Here's some higher resolution images.

The two printed rising sun signs look like there are "off" in their proportions. Could just be the photo angle and all BUT... All Japanese flags (not banners) will have a ratio of Height equals "1" and length has to be "1.5". SIZE DOESN'T"T MATTER - its the ratio!
Please measure them and see what ratios they have. From the pictures the navy rising sun (offset sun to handing end) look to be hemmed short?? Could be totally wrong here :-p
