    WW2 Japanese Navy firefighting helmet

Just found this at a garage sale, and would like some input..
The top piece is missing, and it looks like a tag is missing from inside, but otherwise is really nice.
I cannot find any pics or info of any of these with the Imperial Navy anchor..
Got it very cheap, they thought it was a safari helmet from India!

That's a very nice find. Goes to show that stuff is still out there. Here's one without the badge and a close up of the top part.

These helmets are very interesting I have not seen one with the anchor on before, but I have heard of Army versions as well. Here is an example of a Fire Service helmet I have.I believe the multiple bands would indicate some type of rank. Regards,Geoff

Thank you Sir for the comment!
I assumed it was somewhat rare to find one with the Naval emblem.
I know the helmet probably isn't very exciting to most, but I was absolutely thrilled to find it,especially at a garage sale!
I walked past without seeing it,and my wife actually spotted it about 18inches to the left of my head at eye level!
Good to have a helper along!
