    Odd Bayonet with no edge?

    Hey guys,

I recently picked up a group of various bayonets, many of them standard,...but...one of them is really odd.

It has absolutely NO edge or taper on the blade whatseover. The blade is the same thickness at the top edge, as it is at the bottom edge...and the bottom edge is rounded.

    Is this normal?

    TIA

    Mike

This is probably a training bayonet. What type of markings does it have? Any markings on the ricasso or pommel end?

Normally the blade would be marked if it were a combat bayonet. It is a trainer. no edge, and almost an alloy type metal for a blade.

Your have a naval training bayonet. The two markings on the handle are an anchor and the encircled katakana character TO, a typical naval mark. Jon
