    Hi,
    Im looking for a translation of the label if anyone can help.

    It belonged to someone with the surname Kame'i [turtle well]. The image is not clear enough for me to decipher the given name.

      Thats usefull Guy.Ive seen a couple of others and the labels all seem to be laid
      out the same.

        By the way, this one's manufacture date is Showa 17 [1942], came out of the Hiroshima warehouse, and is a size 6.

          i think its a model 98 winter tunic for soldiers and NCO

            His rank was a Major and the ribbon bar has a WW1 Victory medal.

                Hi,
                It was listed as a Majors tunic.I have not paid for it yet,but I will go ahead and
                buy it tomorrow even if its only a lowly corporal.

                    The ribbon bar does NOT include a WW1 Victory medal ribbon. It has the following:

                    Rising Sun--Sacred Treasure--1939 China War--Red Cross

                          Just to be clear - its not an officer and the collar tabs were added postwar. Its an army government issued tunic and Officers are Private Purchase - especially in 1942. Just be sure to negotiate price/value accordingly.

                          if you do buy it, don't match it up with "officers" pants - they are almost always wool and this needs cotton pants.
