    Japanese Guadacanal group...

    Hi guys...
This is a small group I will be moving along soon.
I need some help identifying the Japanese binoculars and a relative value.
The piece of shrapnel and the booklets are part of the group.
Any help, comments, etc. would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

I have two pair. Does yours have a range finder in one of the tubes? I paid $30 for one pair and $75 for the other both of them in cases. I am going check to see if mine have anchors on them. I figure they are worth $100 to $150. I could be way off.

The kanji within the circle (私) means "I/me" or "private/personal". I think in this case it identifies the binos as private purchase, not military issue.

I'm no expert, but am just throwing this out for discussion.

His doesn't have an anchor on it - look closer at the marking. These are Army NCO binoculars - most common ones seen

You are right Beretta. I need to get some glasses.

                      Thanks guys!
                      I appreciate it.
                      Realistic value being NCO?

                        Hi Tony,

Is there a reticle in that model?

                        Regards,
                        Stu

                          Hi Stu.

There is no reticle in these binos.

You have a very cool group there. I recently purchased a pair with the reticle, without the anchor and a named strap on the case and I paid $80.

That is a kanji NOT an anchor!
