Kempeitai armband

I bought this Kempeitai armband a month or so ago for about $15. I don't regularly collect Japanese militaria but I recognized it as a possible Kempeitai armband and the auction was ending within 90 seconds and thought it might be worth the price even in bad shape.
So my question is, is it original, and did I do ok on the price?

Well, it looks moth-eaten enough to be period. And it does say
