Type 90 Helmet

Is there any issues with this? It's priced fairly at $600 if it's all original. The paint seems glossy and the leather looks new but could just be in good shape. I doubt the net is original.

Check to see if you can find the size marking on the leather band it should be a series of Pin Pricks it should correspond to the size marking at the inside shell at the six o'clock position it may just be the photo but to me it looks like a large liner installed in a small helmet??? Larger Kanji is "Large" Smaller one is for "Small" Hope this helps.

No stitching to the liner band at the rear of the helmet, it should be sewn together with three stitches but the liner appears to be one piece.

Something is off about helmet liner. Either wrong size replaced liner or repro liner. The ends of army chinstraps are usually sewn into tips. One end looks cut short. Net looks either field improvised or just a copy. Regardless , net doesn't look like it was always on helmet.

I agree with Russ and Geoff. The horizontal leather strap that runs all the way around the helmet (the 3 pads are sewn to this), should be in 2 pieces and then stitched together. As Geoff points out, the entire liner looks to be crammed inside the shell. Part of it is even puckered up, giving it the appearance of being too large.

I agree with the other guys, its a dolled up helmet at the very least. Liner is an aged repo and outside looks cleaned and treated. The net is a later addition.
