Help with a couple of Japanese helmets

    Hi All,

I bought some Japanese headgear the other day and I'm wondering what is written in and on 2 of them.

The first one is missing the star and the liner and is painted with something written on the back.

Here is the 2nd one. It has I think the name of the owner with his unit on the other side.

    Thanks in advance!

First helmet looks like it was painted post war & reissued by an Asian country other than Japan. Perhaps Thailand?

        Hi,

Its not a reissue. These were brought back from WWII. The middle symbol is hiragana and is No.

That shade of repaint reminded me of Siamese (WW2) To me it looks like Thai lettering

I lived in Thailand for two years, so can recognize the numbers, but I'm not certain about the alphabet. It looks like this to me:
                ค.๑-๒
                Kh. neung-saawng
                C. 1-2

Dunno what it means, perhaps a company/platoon/squad designation? Similar to "A/2/503" for Co. A, 2d Bn, 503d [101st ABN (AASLT) when I was in it].
