    Japanese Tally - Need Help

Please I'd like to know if it's a correct WWII period tally and what this text means. Seller says it's a Air Base Tally.

It says Shimofusa air base unit. It is the glitteriest thing I have seen, probably post war Japanese Maritime SDF unit. Wartime tally kanji was read from right to left.

        Hi George,

Probably you're correct. Shimofusa Air Base initiated its operations in april 1945 as Fujigaya Air Field, but the name was changed to Shimofusa only at 1960.

        Thank you very much.
