          At reverse

          田山コ (?) - Tayama Co.

          But I am not sure.

          Best,

The reverse is upside-down. It probably reads '29th Infantry. Kubota.' A better photo could confirm the reading.
The image on the right is an entrance gate to a regiment HQ.

Too small for a bottle, usually a small tea or sake cup.
And.... you are welcome for the help.
Don't bother to say thanks. We enjoy helping.

OMG, either I am becoming a grumpy old man or the number of people who cannot appreciate help is increasing. Perhaps I should just stop looking at this forum.

Sorry to the nice people who often hear me rant against ingratitude.

Just did a quick search on 'Wade.' As far as I saw (limited research), he never says a word of thanks. OMG, how much time does typing 'thanks' take?

I am gone--sorry for the rant.

I do thank all forum members for the expertise they offer. I also have given help and information to other members in the past. I never intend to seem ungrateful for the help I receive. Many times I respond with a PM directly to the person that gave me an answer. I am sorry if you were offended, but I just now viewed your response and am responding. Sometimes there is a time delay depending on where people live. In any case, thanks to all for your help.

                          Wade,

You should have omitted sentences 5 & 6 -- then your thanks would have sounded better, even if late. Rich responded on 21 October, fifteen days ago.

I know that Rich lives in Japan, but that is only an 16-hour difference and not an excuse for waiting 15 days to thank someone. I talk to people in Japan frequently, so I understand the difficulties in communicating telephonicly.

We all make slight lapses in protocol -- once in a while.

                            Guy,
I was referring to the time between Riches response earlier today where he posted twice in about 5 minutes, and the time I read and responded to him today. I was not trying to justify a 15 day delay in thanking him for his help. I have been a member for 11 years and I have learned a lot form other members, and I have also contributed some of my knowledge to other members that asked for help. In this case, I was waiting for other responses before I re posted, but I let it lapse too long, and that was my fault. I do respond by PM's often that do not appear on the forum thanking members for their help. I will be more responsive in the future to members on the forum and I do appreciate the issue being brought to my attention.
