Japanese submarine badge real or fake

Morning chaps I bought this some time ago off ebay , I thought I did my due diligence but I had a message telling me its possibly repo , can anyone confirm this for me .

Nyet...

One give-away is the pin. It comes close to the "spade" pins they used, but should swell out a bit until you get to the middle and go straight toward the end. Similar to the coke bottle pins on 1939 EK's. The obverse and the reverse should be toned brown with maybe swatches of red brick color, depending where and how it aged. The badge on the left has the type of pin I am referring to. The jury is still out on the badge on the right

I see that your badge had many bids, including a snipe at the very end. I have a suspicion that there is someone providing misinformation about which types of sub badges are real and which are fake so they can profit from it by keeping bidders away.

The problem is, no one now will pay high dollars for these sub badges, real or fake. Keep your eyes out for this badge coming up for sale again. It may turn up being sold as an original, which it very well might be.

If you are referring to the badge with the blue sky and cloud background, it is an original...right as rain as they say.
