This belt buckle was from a USCGR vet who served on LST-204. He served aboard the 204 April 1943 to June 1944 and some where in there he picked this buckle up. I know the ship was at Cape Gloucester assault and occupation, Finschhafen occupation, Saidor occupation and the assault on Biak where he shipped home. I figured that Biak might be the best chance as to where he picked this up. I know that the 28th NLF was on Biak and it may have been a good place to pick up a last minute souvenir before going home. The buckle still has mud imbedded in the front.
