Japanese flag

Hello all! It's been a long while since I was last on these forums. Life and whatnot. Anyways, I picked up this Japanese flag. It's made of a thin material, printed rising sun, and flag strings in the corners. My question is if it's authentic, and what the value would be?




It certainly smells the part of old fabric, and is covered in what appear to be mud stains. Thanks for looking!

I have several of these flags that came from a relative that was in the occupation force in Japan. He made the comment that these were flags waved to soldiers as they marched off to war. Based on what he said, I believe them to be war era flags, but not necessarily battle flags. The ones I have are about 14" wide and 13" tall.
