Japanese signed flag with coins attatched

    Hello everyone,
Here is a flag I picked up recently. The sales picture was so bad, you could hardly see the attached coins. The flag was also Very Very wrinkled and did not display well. After I got it, I was able to steam out most of the wrinkles and it looks pretty good now. The creases now are very light and are new since I folded it. Mike B wrote about the significance of attaching coins to Yosegaki Hinomaru in his book. I believe these are a 5 sen and 10 sen coins. If anyone can add anything about whats written please do. Thank you and enjoy.
The first pictures show the difference in the sales picture and after I gave it a steaming to relax the wrinkles.

                    Amulet Flag

                    Hi Paul-
Wow! That's a very nice flag with 2 good luck coins sewn to the orb. You very rarely see a good luck flag with any type of amulet attached to it, and this is a pretty nice example. It's also interesting to note the way that the presentation is written around the left-hand side of the red sun. That's pretty unusual too. Glad I was able to see this one!

                        Hi Paul
That sure is a beauty, are you going to frame it? Any history?
                        Congrats

Thanks Frank and Torakan! I don't have plans for framing yet. The history on this flag has been lost to time.
